NAVADMIN 028/12, MEMBER DESIGNATED BENEFITS, came out recently. It lists all the benefits for deceased members, from the obvious (SGLI) to the not so obvious (escorts for surviving family members to the funeral). Please read it and make sure your information is up to date. As one of my commands Casualty Assistance Calls Officers, I know that this information is extremely important for the families of deceased service members. Don't leave it to chance.
